In industrial applications requiring variable speed, the use of DC electric motors is still widespread despite the versatility of use of asynchronous motors with inverters. These are able to guarantee optimal performance and high torque density.
Orange1 manufactures DC electric motors specifically designed for speed or battery operation, ensuring precise torque adjustment. The RA series of direct current motors easily fits a variety of industrial applications.
Our DC motors are available in sizes from 80 to 800 with power from 0.5 to 2500 kW and comply with CE and IEC standards with insulation classes F and H.
Orange1 direct current motors can be configured in various construction forms and cooling methods together with a wide range of accessories and spare parts such as encoders, brakes, sensors or relays.
Brushed DC motors are obviously different from brushless motors and AC electric motors, in both function and design:
– A brushless motor is an electric motor with a permanent magnet rotor. Unlike a brushed motor, it does not need sliding electrical contacts (brushes) on the rotor shaft to function.
– The difference with AC motors comes from the power supply type: it’s single-phase or three-phase alternating current for the latter, and it’s direct current for DC motors.
This type of electric motor can be installed in various industrial applications even in difficult environmental conditions: DC motors are suitable for industrial machinery such as lathes, extruders, machine tools or presses, conveyors, compressors, elevators, carousels and laminates.
